The reasons for Seattle’s slide are numerous. The Seahawks’ running game was woefully ineffective all season. They managed just one rushing touchdown from a running back all season and quarterback Russell Wilson finished as the team’s leading rusher. The rushing yards by Mike Davis was the second-least by a leading running back in franchise history, behind only Sherman Smith’s yards in Wilson led the league with 34 touchdown passes this season. However, it was a necessity, as Seattle couldn’t run the ball near an opponent’s end zone. Running backs gained only 17 yards on 34 carries inside an opponent’s yard line with no touchdowns and just one first down converted. Seattle’s defense was diminished due to the losses of cornerback Richard Sherman , safety Kam Chancellor and defensive end Cliff Avril to season-ending injuries. While the group could manage to keep playing at a high level at times, further injuries to linebackers Bobby Wagner and K.

After the rise of ghosting , breadcrumbing and benching – all unpleasant dating trends – cushioning is the new term to describe a relationship where something is going wrong. Cushioning is essentially the practice of making sure that you have some insurance on the side in case your relationship goes sour. Getty Images The practice involves making sure you have a Plan B in case you get dumped Serial cheats may be leading a few people on at the same time, to make sure that there’s always a soft landing in store if they’re faced with the pain of a breakup.

And the popularity of dating apps means its easier than ever to keep someone on the back burner for months, without arousing any suspicion from your partner. Of course, cushioning is counter-productive in the sense that it increases the chances of your relationship going sour in the first place. Some people cushion early on in a relationship, when things are still uncertain, but the worst cases occur deep into a serious commitment.

Getty Images Cushioning may even be going on deep into committed relationships Earlier this year, an anonymous student shared her experiences of cushioning with The Tab. Tinder Now available on your desktop PC.

Benching: The dating trend that could ruin your love life

I thought when I got back into the world of dating that all I would have to worry about were catfish, but Millennials have added a whole new low to online dating with almost no integrity or accountability. In the last year, I have heard stories from women who are smart, sexy, and successful who have all dealt with men who behave in appalling ways; from canceling to disappearing to ghosting. Bread-crumbing is a term that perhaps comes from the Hansel and Gretel fairytale where someone sprinkles tiny little crumbs all over your social media, phone and dating profiles every once in awhile just when you give up hope that there will ever be an actual relationship with a person.

They give just a little nibble to keep you on the trail. Stick to the trail you know is going to get you to your destination and leave the crumbs for the birds.

Online dating can be rough. We’ve had ghosting, bread-crumbing, Gatsbying, benching and even freckling and now there’s another dating trend to get our heads around – fishing.

It occurs when the person you’re dating doesn’t introduce you to their friends or family, and doesn’t post about you on social media. Basically, you’re their secret boyfriend or girlfriend, while they feel justified in “stashing” you in the corner, pretending nothing is going on to the outside world, and keeping their options open. It refers to when someone you’ve been seeing vanishes without a trace. You could have been dating someone a few days, or a few months, but one day they simply disappear.

They don’t return your texts, and may even block you to avoid having the break-up conversation with you. It’s cowardly, but depressingly common, especially with a vast array of dating apps at our fingertips. This is called zombie-ing. It’s usually a fair amount of time after they disappeared into thin air, and they often act like nothing happened, like a cocky reanimated corpse. An innocuous “hey” might appear on WhatsApp, or something similar to tempt you to reply.

Sarah Morgan Whether it is from insecurity, immaturity, an interior power struggle or simply a packed work or school schedule, boys and men tend to ignore members of the opposite sex. This tendency is puzzling, and even guys may not understand this strange behavior. How you should act when a guy ignores you depends on the stage of the relationship and how his behavior fits into context with the grand relationship scheme. Meet Singles in your Area!

Benching, also known as ‘bread-crumbing,’ is when someone you’ve been dating stops agreeing to meet in person, but continues to contact you over text, email and social media. These people, much like a sports coach – keep you on the bench while they play the field.

Where ghosting saw potential romantic partners exchanging flirty texts, late night phone calls, and cozy wine and Netflix nights followed by complete and utter silence on ones part, Benching finds an impossibly more cruel tactic altogether. The psychology is quite simple. In a culture of instant gratification, swiping profiles, and FWB, consistent monogamy seems passe and antiquated. No one wants to commit, for fear that one more swipe of their thumb could land them someone hotter, more qualified, more successful, better in bed.

Benching occurs at the intersection between ghosting and a longing for a healthy long term relationship. We “bench” people as if they were players on our team of prospective lovers. Not quite good enough to settle down with, but not so pathetic that we’ll toss them aside entirely. We string our hopeful partners along with innuendo, late night texts and endless hypothetical plans and dates, with nothing to ever show for it.

Are you a benchee? Is benching the same as ghosting? People argue that benching is the new form of ghosting but there are some differences between both terms. If you have found yourself in a relationship but suddenly the other person stopped any communication with you and seemed to have evaporated from earth, you may have experienced ghosting. For whatever reason, your love partner may have lost interest in you or the relationship, but instead of cutting strings, this person just vanishes like a ghost.

On the other hand, benching is a push-and-pull scenario. Then suddenly you get a new text from this person saying how much you were missed and wanting to meet. It may look as if this person is interested but the relationship never seems to move past the first base. A bencher or a shy person? The bencher is the person that sends you cute or romantic texts, maybe promising you some big moves, that never materialize. It is argued that a bencher always has someone on call to avoid feeling lonely.

WZAW — The Better Business Bureau is warning people about making a love connection online this Valentine’s Day, because the threat is big for scammers looking to take your money. Susan Bach from the BBB regional office in Appleton joined the Deep Bench on Wednesday to explain important red flags to watch out for if you go online to look for love. According to the BBB, romance scams are different from other scams. They prey on lonely people looking to connect with someone, and can often take months to develop to the point where money changes hands.

The emotional harm to the victim can be even more painful than the monetary loss. According to a press release from the BBB, the spread of online dating sites and apps has made this fraud even easier to commit.

A few years ago, in the wake of a break-up that left me terribly depressed, I decided to set a tough goal for myself and work toward it as a way to lift my spirits. I was previously an experienced martial artist and for a while had even run my own school, but in my role as an engineer over the ensuing years, I had allowed my conditioning to lapse severely.

My goal was simple: I ultimately achieved my goal, and this article is meant to help guys who, like myself, want to go from zero to hero while living a demanding life. Not an option My plan was complicated by a highly demanding job that has me on-call 24x7x , the demands of a teen daughter, and a 2. I most certainly did not want to spend an hour a day driving to and from the gym, plus another hour at the gym.

And that planned hour always seems to turn into much longer, when the flow of your workout is interrupted by someone indefinitely monopolizing a machine you were planning to use.
